Sadaqah

Sadaqah in Islam means “righteousness” and the term used to describe an act of kindness that is given to someone without the expectation of anything in return.

This is also a voluntary charity given to please God. Sadaqah also describes charitable act towards others, whether through generosity, monetary, love, compassion or faith.

There is a “recognised right, for the needy and deprived” over our wealth (Qu’ran, 70:24-5), so by giving for the sake of others, you are fulfilling a duty to those in need and preventing him or her from becoming proud of their own generosity.

Charity is a core part of Islam, and Sadaqah supports this by encouraging others to give for the sake of giving. The act of charity is a core part of proven to improve happiness in both the giver and the receiver, and those who give Sadaqah are guaranteed to receive a reward in the Hereafter.

Sadaqah can be a voluntary donation and any amount can be given. There are no rules when it comes to giving Sadaqah and who deserves Sadaqah. You can give what you feel comfortable giving.

When you give a Sadaqah donation to Mina Foundation, you make a significant difference in the lives of individuals and families who face many difficulties while living in a life of poverty and hardship.
